    Paul Okoye Of Defunct Psquare Announces changes His Name


    Nigerian music superstar, Paul Okoye, has announced a change of name. Paul, a half of the crisis riden Psquare group, made the announcement via Instagram.
    Paul said from the 1st of January, 2019, his Instagram and Twitter name will change to ‘iamkingrudy.’ Paul Okoye’s handle across Instagram and Twitter is presently @rudeboypsquare.
    He wrote:
    “PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT! Dear #firedepartment on the 1st of January 2019 my instagram handle and Twitter will automatically change from rudeboypsquare to @iamkingrudy thanks and God bless. #namesecured.”
    In a nutshell, the change of name means that Paul officially totally dissociates himself from the Psquare brand

    Davido’s abandons 1st daughter – Kemi Olunloyo alleges


    Controversial Nigerian journalist Dr Kemi Olunloyo has alleged that Nigerian pop star Davido’s 1st daughter he had 5 years ago has been allegedly abandoned by the singer who doesn’t want to have anything doing with the girl’s family.
    In a thread she made on Twitter, Kemi Olunloyo claimed that the paternity test that was conducted when the story came to light was fake and that Davido and his family bribed the doctor to alter the result of the DNA test.
    She also claimed that the 5-year-old girl identified as Anuoluwapo Adeleke, has taken ill and has also stopped going to school.

    Labinjo’s daughter turns 5yo on November 19th 2018 two days shy of her alleged dad’s birthday. Labinjo states that Davido has cheated her of benefits for their daughter, believes that a paternity test previously done was ALTERED. She is asking for an independent one.

    According to Davido’s daughter’s grandmother, Mrs Ropo Labinjo, the paternity test results were ALTERED. Both mom and grandmother say the doctor was paid heavily by Davido even after Deji Adeleke had paid the lab fee so it looked like a bribe to distort the results.

    About the Programme

    IB PLC Hero’s Foundation Kickstart is International Breweries PLC’s corporate social investment (CSI) initiative run by its subsidiary IB PLC Hero’s Foundation. It is aimed at instilling a culture of entrepreneurship among Nigerian youths by encouraging them to develop their big ideas into sustainable businesses or expand their existing businesses through the provision of material and financial support which include:

    • Business development skill training
    • Business mentoring and coaching
    • Provision of grant for business start-up and or expansion
    First launched in South Africa in 1995 as a poverty alleviation initiative, the programme has also been implemented in Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, and Tanzania.

    The IB PLC Hero’s Foundation Kickstart programme is open only to Nigerians between the ages 18 to 35 who live and have their businesses in Abia, Anambra, Bayelsa, Benue, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Enugu, Imo and Rivers states.

    The ultimate goal of the programme is helping to build a young prosperous society by helping to create a culture of entrepreneurship thereby reducing youth unemployment in Nigeria.

    ELIGIBILITY:
    • The competition is open to Nigerians between the ages 18 to 35 years who live and have their businesses in the following states: Abia, Anambra, Bayelsa, Benue, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Enugu, Imo and Rivers states. 
    • Applicants must be at least 18 and at most 35 years with valid identification (e.g National I.D; Drivers License; International Passport; Voters Registration, etc) as at the last day of the application period. 
    • He or she must be willing to operate the business on a full-time basis. 
    • Should have an innovative business idea in need of a startup capital. 
    • Or already have an existing small business needing capital to expand operations. 
    • Energetic and entrepreneurial in approach. 
    • Should be able to read and write.

    Basic requirements are contained in the application section.

    Short listing
    • A number of top entries will be selected based on the merit and quality of their business proposals by a team of seasoned experts. Each form will be scored against the “Screening Sheet”. The sheet will be used to grade and rank all submitted application form, the score gotten from the submission will be debated upon by the experts to ensure alignment and common ratings. For clarity of purpose and fairness to all applicants, the Screening sheet is an internal document. Scores are not shared externally. 


    Training Programs 

    Successful applicants will then undergo an intensive one-week business training. The modules for the training will include:
    • Human Resources 
    • Business Plan Writing 
    • Book Keeping 
    • Income Statements 

    At the end of the training, applicants will be given one month to write the final competing business plan.

    Final Selection 
    • Each judge is given a copy of each submission document for review. 
    • Judges convene to interview applicants on their business plans. 
    • Business plan and interviews for each applicant are rated and scores aggregated to determine winners (Kickstarters). 
    • The outcome of the judges’ decision remains confidential until the day of the award ceremony. 
    • The decision of the judges is final and cannot be contested. 

    Kickstart Awards 
    • This will take a form of a grand event and winners will be announced and presented with their prizes. It will be a high profile event with government functionaries and business persons in attendance. 

    Mentoring & Monitoring 
    • The awardees will have access to carefully selected expert assistance through mentorship and coaching for the period of a year. The Kickstarters are under the obligation to observe and implement the advice as tendered by the mentors. There will be monthly update on the progress made and business performance which will be shared with the Foundation and International Breweries PLC Management.

    The Foundation’s decision on determining the winners is final and cannot be contested.


    Application opens Tuesday, August 14, 2018 and closes Sunday, September 30, 2018.

    Nigerian gayrights activist, Bisi Alimi reacts to arrest of 57 suspected homosexuals in Lagos


    Over the weekend, the Lagos state police command arrested 57 suspected homosexuals who were allegedly being initaited into the act of homosexuality. The 57 suspects were paraded before newsmen yesterday.(Read full story here)
    Nigerian gayrights activist, Bisi Alimi, has reacted to the arrest. Bisi on his Facebook page, wrote
    ”People have parties in Lagos everyday. Sometimes the parties have more men than women and sometimes more women than men.
    “The idea that there is a “gay party” or a “gay initiation party” is nothing but lack or responsibilities from the part of our police and government.
    “Those innocent people are a victim of their poverty. Whether they are gay or not is not the issue, the issue is, they are poor and they will pay the highest price for being poor in a country that celebrate stolen wealth”.

    Bisi Alimi, and his husband, Anthony are currently in Lagos for their holiday.
    The United Kingdom-based Nigerian gay wedded his British lover, Anthony in 2016.
    Alimi gained international attention when he became the first Nigerian to come out openly on television.
